Bavaria promotes hydrogen
HyWeb, 97-04-02: Several hydrogen lead-projects are under discussion in Bavaria, out of which the following three are finally discussed and thus eligible for funding (figures: budget/ government funding):
- Munich airport airfield ground transportation vehicles to be modified to hydrogen (30/ 15 Mio DM)
- MAN fuel cell city bus prototype with Siemens PEMFC and Linde/ MAN Technologie composite materials compressed gas storage vessels (11/ 5,5 Mio DM)
- Fuel cell cogeneration at Nuremberg (2/ 0,6 Mio DM)
Further projects to be funded are:
- Pre-coordination of the Bavaria-Québec-cooperation
- Simulation tool H2 explosions
- combustion of Hythane
The foreseeable BStMWVT (Bavarian Ministry for Economics, Transport and Technology) funding for 1996 to 1999 is of the order of 23 Mio DM.
Further project proposals are:
- Regional aircraft Do 328 to be modified to LH2
- Biomass reforming/ fuel cells
- Hydride storage for mobile applications
- Residential PEM fuel cell systems phase I and phase II
- Feasibility study sewage gas fuel cell
The following preliminary project proposals exist:
- Spa resort hydrogen model town of Bad Brückenau to be modified to hydrogen supply
- Hydrogen use in the Munich municipal city gas grid via decentralized fuel cell technology
- Mobile GH2 refueling station.
