Worldwide first Hydrogen Bus Operated in Public Service
Accompanying Investigative Activity in the Framework of the LH2-Bus-Demonstration Activity in Bavaria (1995-1998)
HyWeb, 97-03-24: End of April 1997, the worldwide first liquid hydrogen city bus will be operated in regular public service in Munich. A first demonstration phase in regular public passenger service in Erlangen last year was successfully terminated after some initial teething troubles.
The demonstration operation of the MAN city bus SL 202 with LH2 storage and hydrogen internal combustion engine in the cities of Erlangen and Munich in the framework of the "LH2-bus demonstration Bavaria" will, among others, serve for the evaluation of the achievable emission reduction potential in urban agglomerations.
