Preliminary or Final Results: |
With a computer modell the scientists found out that hydrogen will only become of major relevance if the CO2 emissions must be reduced about 60% until the year 2040. This does not depend on its way of production. On the other hand is CO2 reduction round about 80% only possible with the use of Hydrogen. In this case hydrogen will have a share of 24% of the total consumption. 1/3 of this could be biological based hydrogen. Impediments are too high costs for the photo reactors and the used materials. The water consumtion is still too high for a mass production and the rate of returned biomass after production is very high and causes problems in the refuse disposal. |
