Project Description and Objectives: |
A part study ""mobile deployment"" of hydrogen was carried out within the framework of Phase II of the DLR's HYSOLAR Project. Combustion engines, fuel cells and gas turbines were considered as power sources for automobiles, busses and planes. Moreover, the supply infrastruction for hydrogen fuel was taken into account. The following steps were adhered to in each application (variant) investigated: description of technology and potential, use of resources and raw materials availability, manufacturing aspects, energy consumption, emissions, expenses, and cost reduction potential, research in development deficits, possible temporal duration from investment in development and demonstration until sales maturity.
