Project Description and Objectives: |
The Bavarian-Maroccan cooperation in the field of solar-hydrogen technology was initiated at the political level. In this study options for a long term environmentally neutral energy production on the basis of renewable sources are to be identified. The goal of the cooperation is to meet currently growing energy demands and to replace present power plants with technologies exploiting wind and solar energy sources as well as to explore the long term prospects of using an intercontinental connection for the export of electricity and for hydrogen. The technical and commercial status of wind energy converters in windparks, solar-thermal parabolic channel power plants and photovoltaic power facilities is herein described as well as potential for cost reductions. |
