Project Description and Objectives:

Basic research and technologic development of a 350 kW PV plant for solar hydrogen production located in the solar village Riyadh.
A 10 kW demonstration plant in Stuttgart for research on advanced electrolysers and a 2 kW electrolyser in Jeddah.
A system study on hydrogen in the public energy supply.

Technical Goals:

Scientific and economic basics for a future solar production and usage of hydrogen.

Project Status

Finalized

Preliminary or Final Results:

The production facilities in Riad and Stuttgart are still in operation. The hydrogen is used for research into fuel cell technologies.

Final reports of phase 1 (1992) and phase 2 (1996) are published.
